In the recitation of the Hizb al-Bahr this afternoon, I felt compelled, during the seven Ha Mims, to draw to my heart the movement of the ruh in the six directions from the bahr al-qidam and in the seventh Ha Mim, to return to the utter perfection of Allah Most High. Is this bid‘a?¶
Is it both necessary and sufficient for a man to know himself to know his Lord? Could this knowledge acquisition take place in a reverse order, i.e. could this alone be sufficient, by realizing one’s existence through Allah alone?¶
